Welcome to another episode of On the Center, Season 2, Episode 2. We are back. We are your hosts. I'm Matrix.
Speaker 2:And I am the franchisee. Yeah, wild child, you see the firecrackers, the fireworks? No, yes, we tried.
Speaker 1:We turned the feature off today. Anyway, we have a special guest on the phone today. That's why we did two episodes in one week. We had to get him on.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we got El Presidente. I already do the Mexican. We got El Presidente, mr Tito Battle. I call him T Mr Tito Battle, everybody knows him.
Speaker 1:He call him T Mr Tito Battle. Everybody knows him.
Speaker 2:He's a fix in the sports community, but I'm going to sell all your business, man. El Presidente, Mr Battle, let us know man, Give us a little brief bio about yourself, man the Spartanburg.
Speaker 3:Wow, I guess, like you said, it's a great opportunity to be invited on. I understand A lot of people really think they know the story, but I actually started on basketball.
Speaker 3:Coaching nightly, when I started playing shifts me and Pete, me and Pete together coaching nightly, left nightly to come to football. Started my career out just playing, playing for the Jets. Then transitioned up to head coach. Through my tenure I also served as the president of the league of the CFL. Then also I transitioned over to fly the flag. Played once a championship, then retired, became a coach once a championship. Came back to help with a friend, lost some championships. Now I've been elevated to once again credit and back Today.
Speaker 1:I love a lot of football. That sounds like a lot of ups and downs, man, but I mean again you know congratulations, man. You know what I mean. Like we said on the first show earlier this week, we know you and your team will get it done. We have a lot of high hopes, so don't let us down. Eh, you know, don't let us down. We know you ought to get it done, but I heard what's his name, the franchise calling you El Presidente.
Speaker 3:Where did you get that name from? Yeah, I got that name from. Actually, that actually came from the jets before you know going up there. Uh, I just made president I got the cat started from there, and then it took a little bit the Hawks, the Ravens, so it kind of stuck with me a while.
Speaker 1:That was kind of the thing. I hear you mention all these things but you didn't mention a team. That you started off a flag with man. What happened?
Speaker 3:to that. You know, wow, I'm not surprised you aren't going to have that story.
Speaker 1:You know that's a story that I don't need a story, I just need to have a name. I need a name there, you go.
Speaker 3:The franchise at the setup was then converted to a god, but originally called him to be a full bot, and I had a little collision with one of my guests sitting organized a opinion. He couldn't see my eyes. He wanted to fight me because he wanted to bring his friend in, because he was better than me. So when he came up he kept me when I started to fight and I okay, okay, and that's that's how.
Speaker 1:That's how, that's how the ravens were formed yes, cool guy, he was riding his dog.
Speaker 3:When I decided to do what they wanted, I chose a jet pack that January would run my lap. Before the field was reached, a player walked up who was a quarterback at the time, and so I tried to say, hey, you ever thought about bringing on a jet fan? I said, you know, it's a good idea. Not knowing that he was supposed to hand me my shadow, so he sent me for the rest of the season. Wow, yeah, yeah, they do, I guess, but I'm a fighter.
Speaker 1:A lot of guys who made the fight with me he didn't even know I was at the center I won though.
Speaker 3:I'm not the leader.
Speaker 1:Well, I mean, I guess that was the start of a great career in flag football for you.
Speaker 2:Yeah, for sure, All right. Well, again I got on the fake defense.
Speaker 3:Actually I got on the fake defense Same linebacker, Average maybe two sacks on the same defense. Actually I got on the same defense, same linebacker, um, average maybe two socks. Again three picks. Maybe I ended the season with like seven picks. I had a great line in front of me Dave Big, mike, pete, um, just goes on and on. So he was a great crew. We just put our heads down and tried to, you know, make our kids successful okay.
Speaker 2:So again I want to say understand. I want to tell you congratulations again in becoming the president of BFFL, but I'm going to ask you this what inspired you to give it a go, after years of people trying to offer you an opportunity to run? What inspired you this time? What changed?
Speaker 3:I guess, is trying to offer you the opportunity to run. What inspired you this time? What changed? I just have a different reason. I mean, every time I and y'all been around, y'all have been there over and over. Every time I try to step away, a different opportunity always presents itself.
Speaker 1:I'm supposed to be Italian, yeah from we. Thought of the Raven Street. I remember that I cut it Every time. I cut it to be Italian, yeah from we thought at the Raven Street.
Speaker 3:I remember that I cut it. Every time I cut it, I say okay, I'm done. Actually, you know what I mean when I'm done, and so every time I try to move on, I just keep getting put back. So I get to the point where I say you know, hey, God needs me. You know, you don't have to run, you don't have to sign one, Because every time they try to set it down they just keep elevating me to another spot.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I asked again to run. I was, you know, like before again, God bless the dead because he asked me to run about a year before it started and I said, man, I'll show you. Man, that's a lot, man, I, I ran this show and I turned it down and here it came back around again yeah let me just do it. Let me just get it done. Give it what I can give it to get it to where it needs to be.
Speaker 2:Nothing that isn't in valuable league now, but there's so much more that can happen to make it even better. But you know that speaks of people recognizing the work you put in as a player, as a coach, as a team leader, so right.
Speaker 1:Also as a person with integrity. You know what I mean, because that's really hoping you continue to be that person. You know what I mean. I'm sure that you were voted in for a reason. I mean I know you guys didn't have any others running against you. They were scared. But at the same time, when you look at the polls, I mean everyone who voted. They voted for you guys, so here's what it is. I mean they could have just sat back and don't vote at all, but they still voted to make sure.
Speaker 2:Yeah. So, hanky-panky got them.
Speaker 1:I know you have a team, well, first team multiple people on it, multiple individuals from all walks of life.
Speaker 2:This team that you have. What made you assemble this team in particular?
Speaker 3:I can see they get picked. I was picked at home. It was pretty romantic. Almost everything was put in place for this to happen and I must have walked straight into what I needed to walk in on. I'll say this, and after I looked at it and yesterday I asked all them to send me a word about their job description personally. So I can't have a feeling I am helpful where they are personally and what they tell us we are. And after getting the recording to the group of what they actually do, I have a great group of working professionals. I think we take the ground in the talent and the expertise that they actually bring to take us into another level, and leaders need to be good at the guy who's behind them.
Speaker 2:Agreed, agreed.
Speaker 3:It's like who's behind them, and one of my fair few is the leader. I always say that people see me on it, but they don't really recognize it. I always believe in creating other leaders. When I was on the Jets, one of my things was listen, I'm not here. My job is um learning to cultivate, but also to create other leaders to come behind me, and so y'all would watch me. One championship I can easily sat there and be like you know what I could be here? I can take this. I build this. I'm not moving on this one.
Speaker 3:I always believe in creating another leader like me. That's a true representation of who you are to create other leaders to come behind you. You know what I mean. I'm always trying to do something different. And again, I always say you're strong as a team. If my team decides to undermine me, that might go. It ain't gonna work. You're always as strong as your team. There's no one minus either, and so I challenge my team, no later than just yesterday, that when you walk around the league, even though you're not going to be the president, you are my office, so you better act like it's your own and own it like it's your own, like it's your like. You're the president. Anything you see on the plate, anything could be better. Don't be scared to address issues because the league won't if you don't take it to be something personal that I do really want to get a better, so I encourage my team, you know, to be my office standard.
Speaker 1:Agreed. So I mean I know this might be premature, but I mean I have to ask you know, because the last one we had, you know that didn't work out. But did you decide on who your commissioner would be, or do you have a list of candidates that you're thinking about?
Speaker 3:Yes, so I'm actually going to have a commissioner office, okay.
Speaker 1:Excellent, we're going to have a team of commissioners.
Speaker 3:It's going to be a hair commissioner a hair, of course but it'll be a team comprised of different people from around the league.
Speaker 1:My second commissioner right now will be Kendall Thompson.
Speaker 3:A lot of people he's a football guy who's particular for the rules, a no-nothing guy. He has no loss in the race but is prepared and motivated to get the league standard.
Speaker 1:That's Keto. You know what I mean.
Speaker 3:I'm scared because he's so much on standard in terms of he can't call his ball. And so if anybody knows Kenneth Thompson, he's that guy, he's that go-getter, he's a no-nonsense, he can walk around there, he can address no issues. You know he's trying to be fair as possible, and so I'm a little scared that he's going to be too much to the rules.
Speaker 3:That's my fear that there's too much to the rules. I know my people. I know sometimes you've got to be a little bit walk away from still, kind of who is your people to fire?
Speaker 3:And so I'm glad that all of Canada is asking to come out as commissioner, because he's probably the only nice people to fire he. And so I'm glad that all of Canada is asking to come on as commissioner, because he's probably the only nice kid about you. He's already started. I don't know what to call him. I don't even understand, but that's a bit too much. I don't know if they're going to be able to step on stage. He's already asked me for all the information that he needs to carry out his duties and he's getting up and ready to go.
Speaker 2:Okay, that's solid A of business. Yeah, I know. Well, I know we've had we've had both of us had the privilege of playing contact football with you, but I feel like I've had contact and flag. How do you think you, being a player, can help propel your presidency Well?
Speaker 3:that's a great, great question that needs to be answered. The reason being being able to play a contact outside.
Speaker 3:You can feel the feeling of people yeah you can see from a different lens um being around it, being on the outside, looking in um playing it, knowing the tools that happen to make the league better. I think it's one of the key things, and also sometimes it isn't good because you could be too attached. You could be too attached in the sense of meaning that from the beginning you could be overbearing, because I've said this about a lot of leaders.
Speaker 3:When you're not afforded the opportunity to and then you're talking to me, speaking to our government. It's up to me to be open-eyed. No leader should be scared to be challenged. I think that a lot of people who are leaders.
Speaker 2:Preach don't work. Why are you doing that? And so they almost want to be. I don't want to talk with them, but hey, yeah, they really need to conform. They don't want to talk with them, but hey, they need to conform. They don't want to snap up.
Speaker 3:I said, if you have a dream, try to make it work. But sometimes you got to hear people and listen to people and listen to them, and so, to be a player, I'm now being able to take a seat. There's some changes I want to make. Sometimes it might not be a good change.
Speaker 1:Someday it might be a good change, I don't know. Okay, I'll say this much I mean not every decision you make. Everyone's going to like it, you know. So, at the end of the day, you're there for a reason, mm-hmm.
Speaker 2:You know but. But let's, let's let. But let me add on to that what you're saying. You were innovative in bringing Stan Wars to the masses and, trust me, we all love it. By the way, we love Stan Wars. At first I was skeptical. Yeah, I was saying man, that's a skinny dude sport. They show no love to the big dudes. Hey, skill, not skinny Skinny dudes, man, skill as a big dude, I got skill.
Speaker 1:Well, I mean well, I'm lying.
Speaker 2:But how do you feel developing that from the ground up can also help in your presidency? Listen, I have people sitting around saying well, let me tell you, it's way down, what people say I know, yeah, Um me.
Speaker 3:Everyone else can say that I never balled the box. If I come to this team and do not know the box, I'm in a job, I'm never going to know the box and I just fight for the box with all I know. I don't believe in kicking the ball down the same road to get to the end of the field. I got to do something different. You know what I'm talking about. Let me tell you something crazy. If I go somewhere and fly across the field, I need different. I'm not coming to do the same old. I need different. I have a lot of ideas and I promise you, if people support me, I'm going to fight it. Listen, this will be a season like never before.
Speaker 1:Let's get it. I believe you with that. Yeah, let's get it. I know I mean, let me see if I could squeeze something out of you right now. I mean I know you're just getting in the office but you say you get a lot of ideas and stuff. You know if people believe in you, but you want to list some of those things that you plan to do. Just give us a little idea. I mean, we want to hear it first. You don't want to understand it, you see.
Speaker 3:Exclusive, exclusive. I'm coming for my fear. What I'm going to do is to bring showtime to football primetime Friday night, under the light. Now we're talking the smoke, the lights the show, the performance football in the park under the light.
Speaker 1:That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2:So you plan on just having like one game or how that gonna work? Yeah, cause the prime time you have a female game and a male game.
Speaker 1:Okay, solid, that's good, that's solid. So it still won't take much from your Friday night party, yeah.
Speaker 2:That's right.
Speaker 3:Yeah. Sounds good man game before, the game after, we'll have a good time. Put football on second stage and give them the best we possibly can, El Presidente?
Speaker 2:if you do that, I might want to play Friday Night Lights for you. I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 1:He ain't on a roster, don't mind him. I got a lot of work to understand.
Speaker 3:We're going to make understand.
Speaker 1:I can't go to Fox Sports, we'll go on CNN, but there is, just don't call the one. Bill called me drive-by, because you see what they do to him.
Speaker 2:I understand him like now, before it's going to be understander. That takes it to another level. We are willing to support you, bro, let's get it boy, again, like I said, we support you 100%.
Speaker 1:So whatever needs to be done, I mean once it's for the growth of the league, we win it, we win it, we win it. That's what we're here for. You know what I mean. But again, one of my next concerns always was you know, because I started playing flag from the beginning, you know, when it was like only three teams, I think it was, and then at one point we, we had 10, 11 teams.
Speaker 1:What do you and the team plan to do to increase the number of teams in the league? How do you plan to try to increase that?
Speaker 3:I'll just tell you what happened. I was around when the CFL died. I was around when the CSL died. I was here when it was the 11th game. I was here when it dropped down to five games on the nail side. On the nail side. I think it's a generation where football, where football was growing. It was growing so fast. Everyone wanted to be a part of it and.
Speaker 3:I don't think we have done a great job on creating players. We have done a lot of jobs of moving players around. I always say, if you have an opinion, instead of trying to get there some other opinion, I think you should try to create your own talent.
Speaker 1:Yes, sir, I agree. I agree, I've always been trying to put together a fine talent.
Speaker 3:I remember when the first time I saw D everybody knows D who's played the best of them. You know what I find D. I was going to practice, to just practice. I saw this dark structure walking coming down the backside of Fort Charlotte. I saw within a minute. I said I want to play football. I said I want to play football at least a year. I signed up for that and then I went to practice and from then on, d turned into being a monster.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but you can't really do that nowadays. You got to lock it down. Put your window up nowadays.
Speaker 3:Yeah. So I mean, let me start with bringing visibility back to the league, making it popular even with times coming through the gate, seeing what the level and how it reacts, because we saw a lot of great guys come on the NFL flag. You know one thing when I started to get fat I had to say but in Orlando the NFL flag was there, we are the best in the rest of the world, but not recognized. And me saying that to say that they don't know the level of time that we have in this country. So they were in Jamaica the other day and they and they had a trial what do you call it combine?
Speaker 1:They were able to find one player In Jamaica, in Jamaica.
Speaker 3:In the whole of Jamaica, not one player.
Speaker 1:Hold on the whole of Jamaica, not one player In the whole of Jamaica, millions of people they just find one player and I was like, hey, we got this diamond dozen guy here.
Speaker 3:I said we got them in all different ages, whether they're old or young. However you want them. That's crazy yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they want to buy in. Yeah, you say you say the team in yeah, they want to buy in, yeah, they want to be a part of it. You say you say they want to be a part.
Speaker 3:What the fuck? Look at that. What's going on around here? Where are these people at? Oh my, they playing football over here. And again, I always tell people. I tell people. I told you this yesterday because we in football, we have so much football to do. You'll be amazed to know how many people will know the level and risk flying football is playing in this country.
Speaker 1:Yeah Well, I mean, don't forget now we played in the CAFL, so we know All on that being around and you know, I mean a lot of people didn't even know about that, they didn't even know we had a tackle football league in the Bahamas. So you know, I can understand that, you know, but Football League in, you know, in the Bahamas.
Speaker 3:So you know, I can understand that, you know. But so I'm just saying it's going to be crucial to pushing this next level of will-be-one flying football to the top of life in this country and I think it's going to be crucial to getting that out there. I'm going to challenge that.
Speaker 1:We're up for the challenge, bro.
Speaker 3:I don't know, but I want the viewers, I want the wait. What's going on? Are you going to call it? I need that type of promoting of the DFL to happen. I just need software leads. I need to be trending to all the different leads.
Speaker 1:Okay. So you know I heard you talking about NFL flag. You know that's my boy's favorite topic NFL flag, bahamas. You know I call it the shit show. You know, but are you still involved with them? It's a two-part question. Let me put it like that. Number one, you know we want to know if you're still involved with them. And also, you know, moving forward. You know, with the Olympics and all of that going on with football, you know it's five on five. How do you plan to incorporate that with the BFFL? Good question.
Speaker 3:I don't think the boy is enough. I can see God in it all. I can see God in it all Coming from another side, still probably being associated with it, but you can still exist. I'm being a part of the FFL on both sides. I always tell people I think people take the ground at the person that I am If you're leading me, I'm going to support you, even though I know you might have certain times to raise about you or some number of organizations. My job is to always try to get football at the opportunity to get to the next level.
Speaker 3:A lot of people back then I guess they didn't understand what it was and the opportunity it was, and hopefully it's not gone. But if it is, we lost a great opportunity to be a part of something big. That's the one thing I always say to the beginning of people they will never be given a chance to actually work out to what it needs to be. I won't be able to lose the opportunity to be on that drive stage, the first class of board. But now that I'm in the chair for the FBSFL, transitioning to 5-on-5 has got to be crucial for what's coming to qualify for the Olympics.
Speaker 3:Nfl and Olympics are two different things, and so being on the stage and seeing the 5-on-5 and where we got to go to qualify for the Olympics is crucial Not someone like me being the champ, because I was able to go and see the level of this they played on, and that isn't even the world, that's just the US and the United States, and we were able to play for the kids in the world format, and we played against China, we played against Japan, we played against Brazil, africa. There was quite a few kids there, so I was able to see what it looked like, and so I think I can now see God in the midst of it all, helping someone to be able to transition to where they need to be and give us a great opportunity to qualify for the Olympics If we ever saw that.
Speaker 2:Well, let me put it out there I don't think that I was against NFL flag Bahamas. I just felt like it was too much secrecy and not enough information was being dispersed to get people's money.
Speaker 1:that's how I feel, personally, that yeah, that was, that was that was the big thing, it was no transparency, especially, especially you coming into the some of the country, and I mean just to say, hey, we send a fly bombers, give me money, and then, hey, I mean, that's, that's what people who gun do, that's how they rob you, because once they say Bahamas, I support you.
Speaker 2:I don't care if I like it. Once they say Bahamas, I support you. I'm going to be honest with you so question.
Speaker 1:You know, stepping down a level from the Olympics, part of it, I mean, you know Nationals has been up and down. Would there be a Nationals this year or do you plan to have a Nationals this year?
Speaker 2:Honestly, it should always be a Nationals, I think.
Speaker 3:I don't understand. I'm just now getting a chance. I don't understand the inner working zone, how it goes, whether it's trying to travel, turn in the pay or however it goes. That's definitely something we look into early. But it's definitely not just about the better. Both sides come together to make it happen. How that looks better. We get a profit sponsor to facilitate those needs for those who are traveling. That's what needs to happen. It's very important.
Speaker 2:You've got to find a way to make it happen. Okay, so I know we touched on it earlier. You were talking about the visibility of this product. We call Flag Football in the Bahamas. What's the plan in place that you have to try to get more fans to the field and also, can we get a scoreboard for the field this year?
Speaker 3:Definitely. Scoreboard is very important. The guys in the basketball team, they don't know who's scoring, who's winning. Those things are very important. Scoreboard is absolutely the most important, even if I gotta put a 16th senior there and some electronic program to put a scoreboard on that and a score is stable.
Speaker 2:that's awesome that's a good idea.
Speaker 3:I have tons of ideas when it comes to visibility. Let me tell you what would not be able to make this work, and I'll say this again I've been around a very long time. Let me tell you what's killing me. The people involved in the league are killing the league and they don't want to hear that. That's the truth. They are tools to a new idea. They're not corruptive in terms of what's expected to be made to make it better. They just tend to settle to be a nuisance that's what it is.
Speaker 2:They're sabotaging from the inside. Yes, cancer.
Speaker 3:I just can't do it. I mean I can tell you the truth, leagues die because people in the league can't. They're not just here to lead guys, someone from the inside do it. I mean I can say the truth Leagues die because people isn't being killed. They're not just getting league died, someone from the inside kills it and they don't want to take responsibility for it.
Speaker 2:Like the CAFL yeah Inside.
Speaker 3:If something is going to wreck a people. I'm a passion to see this work. I'm relying on my, but I mean Agreed, agreed.
Speaker 1:Hey, you got to say it again, man. You got to say it again, man, you gotta say it again. So when I quote that, you know I mean you got trademark. Let's see you say that one more time for the people that make sure they hear you question.
Speaker 3:If the government asks me the truth, clear as you can, I'll tell you the truth. I'm going to tell you. I remember me and Thomas going to him and Mike. They came to practice one day and I know I have to stick up a word, so I had to work up a word. So when Thomas came to practice, thomas said I said okay, thomas, mike, you're going to want to see it. Thomas said I already read my love. I really don't feel bad. I said that ain't got nothing to do with me. I said your personal wishes, your personal wishes.
Speaker 2:But you have a good memory. I actually forgot that.
Speaker 3:I said which one of your moves were. You know, I mean, you put them in your way. You say right, you might not make it, but you don't practice it, right, yeah, I got, I got, I got big shots and, it make sure, send this clip to Butler that was just one boy, that was just one, because I you know. That's just the person who I am. If anybody know me like a lot of people know me yeah I mean.
Speaker 1:So you know, I um, I, I, I um. I have a lot of old people on my team right. I'm looking out for them, whether they're old in age or they just sleep out in the draft when they're young when they're old. You know, on the road we feel there are a lot of like patches, but not a lot. There are a few spots that, but rugby field. There are a lot of patches, but not a lot.
Speaker 2:There are a few spots that, but it's not being modest.
Speaker 1:There's a lot. Do you guys plan to work with the rugby field to improve the fields, because I mean this would be free advertisement, this would be free. Huh, that's a problem right there.
Speaker 3:See, you're kicking the ball down the same road. I need to go sit with the government and, you see, with OB Roberts and Tony Maycock, them who are in charge of delivering the governing body of football in this country. Why doesn't football or flag have its own league for the amount of people that it's?
Speaker 2:involved in Agreed. Why does the fact?
Speaker 3:something that's called a rugby field you ever called.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 3:A rugby field.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 3:Not the BFFL field. We have a youth league, we have youth care all over the country. We have the adult league. Why doesn't the BFFL, BYFFL, have their own field? My job while I'm in this chair in the next two years is to go. I'll have to take over my job while I'm in this chair in the next two years and so go, sit with Obi, Sit with the right arm of the Mario Mole. We need to have steel, we need to become a supporter. Take this and I lie. You know a lot of people are talking, watch this. We always talk about what we want to do for the kids. Now imagine you grab five kids, take them to McDonald's and treat them, Then they go home. Then they get home, they're being molested, they're being abused, all different stuff. So all the things you would have done for that kid ran out the window. Why? Because we're checking for the adults. The adults also need attention. This is the same adults who are raising the younger generation.
Speaker 3:Agreed, we also do something for the kids, but we also do something for the adults who need sometimes, as they outlet, to stay seen, to stay mental. You know that's how I outlet the left. I'm constitutional. So why are we only checking for the kids? What are we doing for the young adults who are raising our next-generation? So why are we always caring for the kids and then being over-the-counter? Everything that you do, almost being at risk, is going to go back to them being molested. They're being abused, they're not being taken care of properly verbal abuse, all kinds of different abuse. So I'm not longing to adults. Don't go on the OVN. You know what you want to help with the country. We got to give our people their thing while we're using the rugby field. You got to pick the holes in the rugby field and make sure the field is awesome.
Speaker 1:I asked you that because if you were to say you're vice president, he's a landscaper, so we might get it done for free. Don't tell him. I tell you that, but I mean, you know. I mean at the end, at the end of the day, we still got to preserve our place. And I mean because you know, um, that was one of the questions that you know came across the desk, you know. But I'm asking this final question before we get on here.
Speaker 2:I just I still am. Like, honestly, Tito, I'm very impressed by that last statement. Like I never really thought of that, like why don't we have a field allotted for football though? Like that's big, especially when Honorable Mario Bolleg was just on was it CBS Morning or something like that when he was in there in New York talking about how flag football has been playing this country for so long, and X, y, z, and I'm like, but y'all ain't taking care of us.
Speaker 2:You know what I'm saying, but I digress, I don't get too political. But anyway, tito, let's go back to last season. Man, you coached a team that went undefeated.
Speaker 3:No, no, no. Let me ask you something. Something needs to be addressed for you, for football, I sacrificed so much for football. Agreed To this day people are so mad with Ken Day for the NFL thing you know to this know I'm still there at school Every Monday.
Speaker 1:I'm going to say 3.30. At school. Well, I know that because you know calling you on that was Monday. I called you, yeah, yeah, and I could hear you in the background telling them run the post. But you didn't run the post and you know I could hear you was coaching. So I didn't say nothing, but I was very impressed. I guess I was observing and that's the thing. You know what I mean. You're still involved with football, even if you retire, yeah.
Speaker 3:Yes, yes, I just don't talk it. I've been going to the boys' school too. The only thing that taught me from going to the boys' school on Monday me and Reggie to teach football was COVID. I was doing it a long time ago. I just don't, I just don't, I don't showcase it. It is again. It is for me to walk around to have a little bit of setup. I try to do my part in the community where I really try to get back to the kids. So every Monday and Wednesday, me football in school for COVID people. So I don't do it because I want to be rapid, I do it because truly, I'm really trying to do my part and what I can do to make this football better, and so if I don't rank up another generation who can carry on flag?
Speaker 2:I understand, I agree. And then this not even you're thinking small right now, flag.
Speaker 1:But I mean you, you, you, you, you, you carry on the country.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and then on top of that, these boys might do so good, they get a chance to at least get a better education. You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 1:Yeah, but I, I, we, I can call, I can call you off air. So we, we, we can speak some more on that, because they're keeping secrets y'all Anyway.
Speaker 3:You ready for this last?
Speaker 2:question.
Speaker 3:Yeah, what was the last question? Once again, go ahead.
Speaker 2:This last question about how you coached a team that went undefeated and y'all get your head voice off and you retired again. But I mean, that's near the hell there. So is the door still open to return to the sidelines, or are you done then, At least in the BFFL?
Speaker 3:Honestly I think, listen again, I can handle that. Building the Jets builds me. I've done so much football. I've crammed so much different types of defense. Often I coach both terrible specials here. I can teach you all a long snap.
Speaker 3:That was a John Mock nut, right, I think guys take it to the ground and come on and monitor him. So I found myself standing on the sidelines trying to impact players that I just didn't realize who I was. Again, I don't want to take them away from them. There was a great group of guys. But you got to know when you're teething up. You know my father, in this country people don't want to step away. You got to know when you're teething up. You know my father told us people don't want to step over. You got to know when you're teething up, not saying that you can't do your job.
Speaker 3:Sometimes it's hard for you to move on to another level, if you understand what I'm saying. Of course I can go back. I can always go back. I can always go back and back. I know the game too well. I'm be a better coordinator offensively than these guys. People actually don't know that. But again, I mean, I can definitely go back to why I'm making a great impact sitting, I guess, here for the next two years to create other leaders to take over when I leave. And again, I tell you, the best piece of mine is creating other leaders.
Speaker 3:If I'm not creating other leaders and allowing people to function. I ain't doing my job.
Speaker 2:That's succession planning. That's the problem. Like Matrix said, that's a big problem we have in this whole government, I feel around this country on a whole.
Speaker 1:Succession planning is a serious thing, boy but anyway, el Presidente, as they call you, thanks a lot for your time. We really appreciate it. You sound like you. You're everything we expected. I'm ready to vote for you again you ain't gonna vote, but I mean again from understanding we support you 100%.
Speaker 3:All day.
Speaker 1:You know, whether you still allow us on the sideline or not, as long as it's for the betterment of the BFFL, then we still support you 100%. I mean we can talk about you on the show, we still support you. But I mean at the end of the day, again, all the best to you and your team and we have a lot of faith in you guys. So again, don't let us down you know.
Speaker 2:Last thing I want to say, tito, I want to appreciate you for taking the mantle of finally deciding to be president like it's a change that we need. And just listen to you talk, I can't help but be impressed by you. Barely said I, you said my team, and that really shows like that's big boy, that's very big. You just trying to empower your team by not empowering them. Does that make any sense?
Speaker 1:No, I am damn.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so solid boy Like I'm very impressed, you know.
Speaker 3:I understand, so solid, but like I'm very impressed yeah.
Speaker 3:I understand. I mean listen to me. I think what I just kind of did the other day, I always I get, I always get told I don't know. People know me but they don't know me. They see me in practice, they see me coaching, but they don't know the love I have for the game and how much I really want to see it succeed and get to the next level. And so I think this show actually gets people to get an insight to who I really am as a person and not just seeing me walking down the field. I try to don't get in the mix-up, I try to be as fair as possible and again, if you see me, don't hear, more than likely I ain't see you. And if you see me not hear you, and I come up to you and hear you. I really want to hear you.
Speaker 3:I want people to know that if you see me, not hear you, I really want to hear you. That's not something I just be moving and, again, that's not personal. I really want to be on the set of allowing people to see exactly what type of president they got. You know I'm also in the church, so let's say you don't understand my standards. I said if I fail, if this team fails, I have failed. And if I have failed, boy, I could be in trouble for failing. So I don't excuse for failure right now.
Speaker 1:Well, I'll say this much in closing you know what I mean before we let you go, and I guess my counterpart, he, speaks to this too. Anytime you want, you're welcome on the show For sure, Don't care what guests we have on. If we got to give you your own 30, sure Don't care what guests we have on If we got to give you 30, 40 minutes, whatever it is, you're always welcome. If there's something that you need to get out to the people, then let us know and we can make it happen.
Speaker 2:And bring Reggie so he can do some landscaping in front of the studio. Yeah, for free, yeah, yeah, yeah, he was a guest last year, man.
Speaker 1:You know he ain't far behind, so I know how to go, even if he ain't on the board. I know he got your back, so yeah. We know how to go, but again, man, thanks for your time and we'll see you around bro.
Speaker 3:No, listen, I need to come on air. It's important that I come on air. I need to put my foot support behind on the center. There's some things we need to do to get the visibility out there. I really want to be on air today, but I'm really running behind.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we understand, life happens.
Speaker 3:Yeah, we need to talk football. We really need to talk football and listen. I need to call Obi Roberts, I need to call Tony Roberts, I need to call Tumi Maycock, I need to call the football people.
Speaker 1:Let's get them in the I just want to tell you, let's see if we get Especially Obi Roberts. Let's see if we get him here. You know what I mean. You know that's. We know him personally. So let's see if we get him here.
Speaker 3:And put him in front of the football world. One more thing before you go Matrix, I want you to try holding my people to find it. I want I just told my team we're trying to look at it. I hope I don't get in trouble I want to honor some people. I want to create the PSFL legend series where we put people in the Hall of Fame as legends.
Speaker 1:I'm going to get them on.
Speaker 3:I'm going to get them counted. I'm going to go in the Hall of Fame for their service and their accomplishment over the cost of existing up in BFFL.
Speaker 1:We want to honor some people in my defense.
Speaker 3:We don't honor our people enough for the work they do, no matter how they were or whatever they were. Oh, how to be.
Speaker 1:It goes without saying. Shout out to Jason Clark Goes without saying yeah, you know the thing is. You know he moved on to the BYFFL, you know the Utes now, and that league is a well-oiled machine also. You know what I mean. So that goes without saying. But again, we're 100% on board, bro. Yes, sir, all right, then you go eat your chicken now alright, man, take care, man, alright man.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm impressed. Now the people see why we support them. And at the end of the day, I know Tito, he ain't to fear. So at the end of the day, that's his name, and same thing. I know Tito, he ate the field. That's his name. Same thing with all of the people on his board. They ate the field. Take your hand down because your hand is too close to me. I didn't want to say it on there, but thank you.
Speaker 2:Y'all see where they're going with you, right, Anyway?
Speaker 1:we were saying the other day.
Speaker 2:Bridgewater. Wait, it's a vintage bro, it's not?
Speaker 1:a vintage bro. Let's concentrate, let's concentrate dog.
Speaker 2:Come on, Go ahead. Evans never made the league. It's the Patriots man, Okay Anyway, but like we were saying earlier, that whole board solid boy. I agree, Like Keisha Jade, Leah Flicken, Reginald Cartwright.
Speaker 1:And you know, like he said, they're professionals, that's what they do. So at the end of the day, I mean Reginald Cartwright would be professional and do landscaping yeah. I agree.
Speaker 2:Shout out to EDLC.
Speaker 1:Yeah, what would he do? But yeah, man, I mean on the real, I mean at the end of the day, I mean he answered the question better than I thought he would.
Speaker 2:I really wish we had him in the studio, but life happens. Yeah, it happens, life happens he had other obligations. Yeah.
Speaker 1:And he's a man Family man at that, yeah, and a businessman yeah, man of that and a business man, you know so at the end of the day. But now that's out of the way. Our first guest we need to talk with, that, I think, in Eddie buddy.
Speaker 2:I want, I want Haji too, though Haji no man Haji, haji can take the show two hours. We could easily give him a wrap it up. Remember on Dave Chappelle, wrap it up. Remember on Dave Chappelle, wrap it up. B Wrap it up.
Speaker 1:You're not producing a play, fox, I'm like a turban. Back now, you ain't calling time.
Speaker 2:We have some housekeeping, bro, we got to let the people know how you LT, how you. I just want to thank LT for being a part of the show last season.
Speaker 1:However, LT Wait.
Speaker 2:Not Vince LT Whoa Wait um um, not Vince McMahon?
Speaker 1:not Vince McMahon or or probably that's Vince you're fired.
Speaker 2:Oh, we only clouted. But hey, I think I stopped the group. So so so T-Rex, t-rex, this guy, he could be, I'll be scratchy back.
Speaker 1:We didn't get any short, hey, but I mean thanks again for throwing it in and you know we're out.
Speaker 2:Hold on, man, hold on. We can't be out yet. Why we got to thank our producer.
Speaker 1:Oh you got to do the credits. You got my 88 season.
Speaker 2:He's that dude.
